As the saga continues with the Government's move to reduce the levy on high street bingo halls, MPs have taken a step forward in visiting their local bingo halls. This procedure is most certainly turning the entire exercise into one big PR game.
The majority of MP’s have kept a low profile in advertising their intention, but this has not been the case for all as some MP’s have been in a position to call Full House in some cases. Obviously this is not going to go down quietly as the main aim here is for them to speak to players and get a more in depth idea of how the public feel.
The first to go in this direction was George Osborne who almost called the full house while visiting a Castle Bingo Hall in Cardiff earlier this month, and now Surrey Coastal MP Therese Coffey has won £150 on a visit to the Palace Bingo hall in her area.
It has been viewed that these visits were not intended for money winning purposes, but rather trying to win over the voters. Therese Coffey who won £150 presented her win to the League of Friends of Felixstowe Community Hospital last week.
It’s not her first visit to an bingo hall, she’s played several times before so is hardly out of touch with her voters. She stated before she went to the Palace Bingo hall, Felixstowe that she would give any winnings to a charity, and then got lucky on the day!
